Andrea Zapcic, a Democrat, is running for Mayor John Ducey’s former council seat. Zapcic was appointed to the seat after Ducey was elected mayor, but now must win an election in order to keep it. She is being challenged by Domenick Brando, a Republican, who previously served on the council.

For more on the candidates, read their profiles and interviews we conducted last week:

• Andrea Zapcic
• Domenick Brando

There are two seats available on the township’s Board of Education. Incumbents Sharon Cantillo and Larry Reid are running to retain their seats, while they are being challenged by David Fischer and John Barton. Like the council hopefuls, the school board candidates were each sent a profile form with a few interview questions by Shorebeat. All except Barton participated. Their profiles are linked below:

• Sharon Cantillo
• David Fischer
• Larry Reid

Voters will also decide whether to re-elect Freeholder Joe Vicari to another term, or elect Tim Ryan, who would be the first Democrat to hold a seat on the board since 1989.
