Brick Township officials have awarded a contract that will provide for the improvement of several streets in the barrier island portion of the township.<\/p>\n

The township council last week approved a $321,013 contract award to Earle Asphalt Company to improve Deauville Drive, Bay Avenue, Squan Beach Drive and Sunset Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Mayor John Ducey said the improvements will consist of repaving, plus concrete and drainage improvements. The work will be completed after the summer season.<\/p>\n

Contracting officials mailed 73 bid notices to vendors, out of which five responded. Earle submitted the low bid, which was awarded; the high bid was $496,107.<\/p>\n
